托福聽力背景知識學習之考題體現
在各種托福考試的參考書中都出現過關于植物學的考題，如官方真題Official中有一篇講nightcap oak的文章，從整體上介紹了這種特殊植物的生長繁殖特點。比較有特色的是Delta中出現了介紹兩種植物的生長激素(hormone)：乙烯(ethylene)和植物生長素(auxin) 。話題的切入點很小，中心名詞也非常陌生，但只要能根據所描述解釋的內容和實例，不難理解文章所要表達的主旨，考生甚至能把實際生活與之聯系。
